In Hebrews 12, Paul compares the Christian life to a race. And just like any race, it’s one that requires commitment and training and endurance. Are you fully committed to following Jesus Christ, to allowing God to use your life to bring honor and glory to Himself?
This next step of faith and service is a challenging one. But God doesn’t need you to be perfect before He can use you. He is willing to use you no matter what you’ve done in the past, no matter how imperfect and flawed you feel like your life is. He can and will use you right now. Jesus welcomes any and all who are willing to come and follow Him. All we have to do is be obedient and come, just as we are.
If you haven’t already committed to doing that, will you do that today? Will you choose to be a follower, not just a fan, of the Lord Jesus Christ? To put your faith into action in your every day life and allow your faith and trust in Jesus to impact the places you go, the movies you watch, the music you listen to, the games you play, the people you hang with...all the things you say and do?
It’s a choice that’s not easy. But it’s one you will never, ever regret!
Will you take the time this week to look up these words — God’s Word — and think about your life, who you are and what you want to be about?
