could NEVER do. Jesus lived a sinless life and died as the once and for all sacrifice for sin, yours and mine, past, present, and future, so we could be forgiven and have a home in Heaven one day. Pretty awesome, huh? Reread John 1:1-5 and 10-14.
TUESDAY Yesterday’s passage refers to Jesus simply as “the Word.” Think about that for a minute. That means Jesus was sent by God to communicate His message of love and forgiveness — to us, all of us. Jesus, who is God’s Son and fully God himself, came to us! Have you heard the message? Do you believe it? If so, have you allowed it to change your life? For some practical ideas for “living out” your faith, check out Romans 12.
WEDNESDAY Let’s face it though...the message of salvation that comes to us through Jesus Christ is too awesome to keep to ourselves. That’s why part of our responsibility as those who have received it — and believed it — is to pass it on, to share it with others whenever and wherever we can. It’s like introducing one Friend, Jesus, to other friends that we really want Him to know. It may seem scary at first. But just think of the awesome gift that you’re giving to those who otherwise may never have known. Read Romans 10:14-17.
THURSDAY There is also the sad reality that some who hear the message that Jesus came to bring will reject it and decide to continue to “do life” on their own. Why? Read John 3:16-21. Does this mean we should give up on those who reject God’s message? Of course not! We should continue to pray for them and, to the best of our ability, life a life full of God’s mercy and grace as a witness before them. We should do this remembering that NO ONE — absolutely NO ONE — is out of God’s reach. Some people just take a little longer to come around. So don’t give up! Keep praying! Keep sharing as you’re able! Keep loving them in Jesus’ Name!
FRIDAY It’s a miracle really, that we get to personally know and love the God of the universe, the One Who made us and gave us purpose before the world began. Are you taking steps to deepen your relationship with your Creator, your Savior, your Friend. Remember, the only way relationships can grow is through a little word called “time.” Are you taking the time to talk to Him about the things that are going on in your life today? To seek His wisdom and guidance about your future plans? He wants to guide your into all the awesomeness that your life can possibly hold! Just call His Name! Check out David’s prayer in Psalm 63:1-8.
SATURDAY Still feel like God is distant and far away, a great unknown that you wish you could better understand? Just look to Jesus. Remember, Jesus is God “with skin on,” sent to reveal God’s heart to us in a way that we feeble-minded humans can truly understand. Get to know Jesus, and you get to know God, the Father! That’s because Jesus came to show us how much God loves us. He came to die so we could live! Not sure about all this? Hebrews 1:1-3 is a must-read! Have you received God’s gift of love? There’s no time like the present!
