Tuesday: Do people who know you consider you to be a loving person? Do you love even those who aren’t so “lovable”? That’s not easy to do, but God has given us an example to follow. He loved us even when we “hated” Him. Check out I John 4:10 and Romans 5:7-8. How should knowing this change the way you relate to others?
Wednesday: Do you think your idea of love is more about the fickle, all-about-romance, self-centered love that the world is selling or the selfless, others-focused love that God offers? The world has twisted love and made it into something it was never meant to be. Want some advice on love from the One who invented it? Read I Corinthians 13 and think about some specific ways you can “show others some love” God’s way today.
Thursday: When we love someone we show it through our actions toward them. In other words, our actions are the proof of our love. Read I John 3:16-18. God proved His love for us in a big way through the death of His only Son on the cross. What actions can you point to in your life that prove your love for Him and those around you? Is there someone in your life that you could love a little better?
Friday: We all know it…loving others isn’t always easy! Some people are just plain impossible to love (in our own strength, that is)! That’s why we need to plug into the SOURCE of love. (See I John 4:19) Once we truly experience God’s love, it will start to flow through us into the lives of others. But this can only happen if we stay connected to the Source of our power to love. How? Reading your Bible, praying, listening to Christian music, making some Christian friends, etc., etc.
Saturday: Have you truly experienced God’s love? Have you asked Him to come into your heart and life, forgive you for your sin, and give you the power to live for Him? If not, why not today? If you do know God’s love, is there someone in your life with whom you need to share? You have the awesome privilege of sharing the amazing gift of love you’ve been given, and John 3:16 is a great place to start. Will you do it today?
