Jorge is fia's sponsored child from La Paz, Bolivia
In April 2012, our group began its sponsorship of a special little boy named Jorge through an organization called World Vision. Since then, we've already had some great opportunities to show God's love to Jorge and his family, not just through our regular support (we encourage everyone in the group to contribute $2 - $3 each month), but also through prayer, special gifts, cards, and emails.

about Jorge...
Jorge is ten years old. His birthday is July 26, 2002. He lives with his parents and three brothers. Jorge's parents struggle to provide for the family. His father is a farm laborer and his mother takes care of the household. Despite their efforts, it is difficult to meet the family's needs. Jorge is in primary school, and he enjoys drawing. He helps at home by being good. He likes to play with toy cars. He is in good health.
Jorge is growing up in a poor community in Bolivia. Family homes are made of mud and brick with a thatch roof and a dirt floor. A typical diet is corn flour and cassava made into a thick porridge and eaten with beans and vegetables. Temperatures are in the high 80s in October and in the low 30s in June. The terrain is flat with lush vegetation.
Our sponsorship of Jorge helps to provide him and his community with school supplies and new classrooms. It also provides clean water and ongoing medical care as well as improved nutrition and hygiene. Parents learn job skills that help them increase their family income and raise the standard of living for their children. And most importantly, through interactions with us and World Vision representatives, Jorge and his family will have a chance to know the love and grace of God.
