Tuesday: Hebrews 4:14-16 describes Jesus as your great High Priest. That means He goes before God on your behalf. These verses also tell us that knowing Jesus had many of the same earthly experiences we do can give us confidence in approaching God when we’re in trouble. Is there a tough situation or temptation you’re facing? Read Romans 8:31-39. Remember, Jesus is on your side. Victory is yours in Him!
Wednesday: Sometimes life’s hard. When you’re attacked, it’s easy to feel like giving up or giving in. But if Jesus lives in you, you have all the power you need to get back up and take a stand. When we’re weak, He’s strong! When Jesus walked this earth as a man, the world tried to beat Him down, too. Read Mark 1:35 to find out what He did. Do you recognize God as the source of your strength? Are you staying connected to Him?
Thursday: This week’s memory verse (Hebrews 4:16) tells us that when we come to God through His Son Jesus Christ, we’ll receive mercy (even if what we actually deserve is punishment). The dictionary definition of mercy is: “compassion or forgiveness toward someone whom it is within one’s power to punish or harm.” How awesome is that that the God of the universe loves you enough to not only overlook your sin, but also shower you with grace by giving you new life through the death of His precious Son! Have you accepted His incredible gift? If so, how does this change how you view yourself (and others)?
Friday: Just think: God loves you unconditionally, at your best and at your worst. He offers you forgiveness for any wrong that you have done. (That’s right, no sin is too big or too awful.) Read I John 1:8-9. Is there anything you need to confess to God today? He’s here, arms open wide, ready to listen and forgive.
Saturday: How will knowing Jesus has “been there” and has your best interest at heart change your response to temptations and hard times? Remember, you can talk to Him about them because He understands. You can also fight back like He did using the truth of God’s Word. Check out Matthew 4:1-11.
