Tuesday: Choosing to walk a path that takes you in a direction away from God and His plan for your life is sin, plain and simple. And like we said yesterday, we’re ALL guilty of it. Sin can come in many different shapes and sizes, but all sin puts up a wall between us and God. It also stunts our growth as Christians – it keeps us from becoming the people God wants us to be. Sounds pretty rough, but it’s important to consider. Read I John 1:5-7. Why not ask God to show you the things in your life that are “building a wall” between you and Him?
Wednesday: Yesterday was definitely the bad news. Sin does create a barrier, breaking fellowship between us and God. But you are still God’s precious child! Just like King David came seeking forgiveness and healing in Psalm 51, we can come to God asking him to forgive our sin and change us from the inside, out. And God is faithful. He will never, ever turn you away. In fact, when Jesus died for us, he died for all our sins past, present, and future. All we need to do is acknowledge the sin that’s coming between us and accept the forgiveness He offers with arms open wide. Make David’s prayer your own today!
Thursday: Admit it! For most of us, this isn’t something that comes easily or naturally. But it’s so important! When we’ve done wrong, admitting (or confessing) it – to God and others who our actions have affected – is the first step to making things right. This means swallowing our pride and being totally honest about our sin. Is it hard for you to admit it when you’re wrong? Remember King David’s example. Ask God to make you more humble and make Psalm 51:10 the prayer of your heart today.
Friday: When we open ourselves up to God and allow Him to break down the barriers caused by our sin – and give us victory over them, He will begin to do amazing things, far beyond what we could ever dream or imagine!! Check out Philippians 1:6. In Christ, we are free from the “chains” of our sin. It no longer has the power to bring us down.
Saturday: It’s important to remember that once we’ve accepted God’s gift of eternal life and forgiveness of sin, we are always a child of God. NO one and NO thing can ever take us away from Him. But walking with God, living life His way, is a choice we need to make every single day. And He’s there to help us do it. We’ll still make mistakes. That’s part of being human. But, remember, God already knows that and He’s always there with His hand out waiting to help you get back up again. Read John 8:12. Will you CHOOSE to walk God’s way today?
