Do those who know you best know you’re a Christian, or would they be shocked to hear it? Do you sing and smile and say all the right things at church on Sunday and then go back to “real life” on Monday? Do you typically follow the example of your friends and just go with the flow, or do you SET the example for your friends? Do you ever say, “NO, I’m a Christian, and this is something I’m just not willing to do”?
Living as a committed follower of Christ isn’t easy. Sometimes it might even mean walking a different road from someone very close to you. But if you’re serious about your relationship with Christ, it is a choice you’ll need to make. The Bible says in Matthew 7:13-14, “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. “
So have you asked yourself, “Which road am I on?” “ Am I more about fitting in, having a good time, and following the crowd, or following Jesus, even it makes me feel awkward or uncomfortable?” We all have a choice to make as to which road we will take. The road most people will choose is just “average.” But the Bible tells us the other is extraordinary! Which will YOU take?
This week, take some time to consider who you REALLY are. What are your TRUE COLORS? Are you a committed follower or Jesus Christ, or just a fake? Are you willing to get off the “highway” of the world and “take the road less traveled” with Jesus?
