way more awesome than any iPhone, iPod, North Face jacket, UGG boots, or other
“gotta-have” trend! So...have you shared it? David (of the Bible) loved God and
he couldn’t keep from talking about it. Check out Psalm 71:16-18.
TUESDAY So...have you shared (or do you share) your faith? Or do you try to hide it? If so, why? Are you afraid you might be excluded from a certain circle of friends or viewed as “un-cool”? Do you try to blend in, or are you willing to stand up and share why you make choices that are different than the crowd? Do you proudly name the name of the Lord Jesus Christ — not as a curse word but as the One who changed your life and can do the same for others, too? Is there one person that you could try to reach out and share with this week? Ask God for His help and commit to do it! Need some inspiration? Here’s a great reminder: I John 3:16.
WEDNESDAY Speaking up about your faith—being a light in dark places—is not an easy choice to make. But it is one that you will never, ever regret! So HOW do we do it? Where do we find the courage to be the person that we never thought we could be? Plug in to the Source! Only God can give us the strength and courage to do the things that seem beyond what we think we’re able to do. Ask God to help you and give you the confidence to share the Hope that He’s given you. He won’t leave you,
and He’ll never let you down. Read Deuteronomy 31:6 and Philippians 4:13.
THURSDAY Keep in mind, too, that “sharing” your faith and standing up for what you believe in doesn’t always mean using your mouth. We send messages to others about what we believe and what’s important to us through our attitudes and actions, too. Do you usually just go with the flow even when you know a conversation or activity isn’t pleasing to the Lord? Or are you willing to “be the change”—no matter
what others may think or do? Making an obvious choice can speak volumes to
others and help to strengthen your faith, too. And even though they may not show
it at the time, your right choices can cause others to think about their own. They may even ask you later why or how you made a difficult choice. Don’t be afraid to tell them! Remember I Peter 3:15?
FRIDAY Another great way you can “share" without actually saying a word is in the way you treat others. Are you loving and kind? Or selfish and rude? Are you willing to reach out to those others shy away from? Do you lash out at those who disrespect you, or are you willing to let it go—or even return a blessing? God tells us in His Word that we are to “bless those who curse us.” Sounds really hard, not to mention completely opposite of our natural, human response, doesn’t it? But it’s what we’re called to do. Remember, you never know who’s watching and who’s being impacted by the choices you make. Read Luke 6:27-36.
SATURDAY Be ready! Sometimes you’ll get your nerve up and share your faith (yay for you!!), only to be rejected or even made fun of. But don’t worry! This puts you in very good company! Jesus was rejected by the very ones He came to save. Check out John 15:18. But here’s the “pot of gold” at the end of the rainbow. God promises us that our efforts aren’t in vain. A “seed” has been planted in the heart of the person that you’ve shared with and one day it just might take root and grow! Be willing to do your part, and trust God to do His! Read Galatians 6:9.
