Tuesday: Maybe you’re not the type who goes around thinking you’re better than everyone else. Maybe instead you spend a lot of time thinking, “I’m always messing up! I’ll never be good enough…” Well, God has an answer for you, too: You’re right! You can’t. The fact is none of us can. But this isn’t a problem for God. He made you you, He knows all about you, and He wants to have a relationship with you. You just have to admit you need Him and accept the forgiveness He offers us through His Son Jesus Christ. Read Colossians 1:13-14.
Wednesday: Sometimes the hardest thing about coming to God is admitting that we’ve been wrong…that we’ve made a pretty big mess of things trying to live life on our own. It’s not easy to let go of the “wheel” of our life and let God “drive.” But it’s a decision you won’t regret. You won’t have to carry the burden of your failures and disappointments anymore because God will be there to walk with you and help you. You don’t have to feel bad about yourself when you mess things up, because God offers forgives and a fresh start. Read II Corinthians 5:17.
Thursday: Even after we’ve asked God to come into our heart and life, there will be times when we fall back into sin (disobeying parents, cheating on a test, having unkind thoughts or saying unkind things, etc.) The question is, are you willing to admit when you’re wrong and ask God (and those you may have hurt) to forgive you? This is the first step to getting back on track with God (and others!) and living the awesome life He has planned for you. Read I John 1:8-10.
Friday: Admitting you’ve been wrong isn’t always easy, especially when someone else has wronged you, too. But holding onto your anger and pride, waiting for the other person to apologize first, will just pull you down! Ask God to forgive you for your part and help you to make things right. Be willing to forgive others as He’s forgiven you. It takes guts, but God will bless you for it. Read Colossians 3:13.
Saturday: After you’ve admitted to and confessed your sin, do you ever struggle with guilt over what you’ve done? If so, remember God has forgiven you, and He wants you to be willing to forgive yourself. Don’t carry around the burden of your past mistakes! God’s forgotten all about ‘em. Read Psalm 103:11-12.
